NHS Services

The pharmacy offers a number of free NHS services. These service are all entirely free, as they are supported by NHS Scotland. The Minor Ailments service is free to only those who were eligible to free prescriptions before April 2011.

The Chronic Medication Service is a new NHS initiative to help patients manage their repeat medicines through their pharmacy. This saves on trips to the doctor, and should allow for easy collection of your prescriptions.

The Minor Ailments service is a service for people who are eligible (e.g over 60’s, under 16, income support, tax credits), and allows our pharmacist to prescribe a limited range of medication to help with your ailment.

The morning after pill is emergency contraception, for use within 72 hours of sexual intercourse to avoid a pregnancy. The pharmacist can prescribe this hormonal pill, but must be able to talk to the patient directly to make sure it is right for them.

The NHS stop smoking service is a free service which allows the pharmacy to supply NRT (Nicotine Replacement Therapy), to patients who are looking to quit smoking. The 12 week course can help you kick the habit for life!
